I’m ready to purchase. How does it work?

Now that you’ve decided to join us, your first step will be to register for the tour. In the chart, you will find the trip you want to purchase. By default, the option selected will be for a seat in a double room. If you need a single room, you can click on “Edit purchase method” and choose the single supplement, or you can select it in the next step. Then, you will need to enter your billing details (name, last name, date of birth, etc.) and finalize the payment. You can pay the deposit or the full amount for the entire trip. After that, it’s time to book your flights/trains to the destination where the tour begins. Ninety days before your tour starts, we’ll email you an update reminding you that your final tour payment is due that day. Ten days prior to your trip, you’ll receive an email with all your final details, including arrival instructions, confirmed accommodation, the final itinerary, contact information, etc. Finally, just board your flight and get ready for the amazing experience ahead!

I’m a solo traveller.

Half of our travelers are too…so you’re in good company. Travelling solo is a great opportunity to make new friends and you’ll be surprised about how easy it is! Everyone who is coming on a trip is so excited that you’ll have new friends to hang out with in no time!

All solo travellers have the option of either upgrading to their own private room choosing the Single Supplement or having Gay Up Travel pair you up with another solo traveler at no additional cost.

When does my tour start and end?

Usually our tours start at 4:00pm on day 1 of the tour in the lobby of our hotel and finish after breakfast on the final day of the tour. Early check-ins at the start of the trip and late check-outs at the end of the trip are always at the discretion of the hotel at the time of arrival/departure.

What about airport pickups?

Yes, we usually arrange that for you! It is always specified in the tour page. You’ll find all the details in the email you’ll receive at the moment of your registration. Also, 10 days before the tour you’ll receive all the instruction about your arrival, the tour specifics, the itinerary, the contacts and so on.

What if I need to cancel?

Your payments towards your Gay Up Travel tour are partially refundable. The deposit is non-refundable but any additional payments made prior to 90 days before your tour start are 100% refundable.

90 days prior to trip departure, the entire trip becomes non-refundable. However, we can often retain part of your payment as a credit for future travel. Please familiarize with our Booking Conditions before purchasing one of our tours.

We highly recommend you to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance for your tour so that, if you need to cancel, you’ll be reimbursed.

Who’s my tour leader?

All of our tour leaders have been trained by Gay Up Travel to assist you and help you maximise your time while on vacation to ensure you the best experience during the tour! Your leaders are also there to deal with any issue that may occur. 

How can I pay?

We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, ApplePay, GPay) or wire transfer.

Are the tour departures guaranteed?

Most of our tour departures are guaranteed as we require a minimum of 4 guests. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel one tour, we’ll usually do so before your final payment is due. 

How many meals are included?

During our tours, we typically provide two meals per day as part of the package. This allows you the flexibility to explore independently without worrying about missing a meal that you’ve already paid for. Please note that while our included meals are hearty and satisfying, they usually do not include alcoholic beverages, except for our special Welcome and Farewell Dinners.

How many fellow travelers will be in my group?

In our land tours, you can expect to travel with an average of 10 to 12 people plus tour leader and/or host. The maximum is 16 and the minimum is 4.

Do you ever cancel scheduled tours?

Cancellation is a rare occurrence, but if it happens, we notify you before your final payment is due. You’ll be presented with various alternatives, including the choice of a full refund or transferring your payment to another tour. Our land tours require a minimum of 4 guests to proceed, so we provide an early bird discount to the first 4 people who book a tour. We guarantee you won’t be left hanging.

Why are your trips more expensive than other trips I’ve seen?

Our trips may appear more expensive than others because we prioritize quality experiences above all else. Whether it’s a camping adventure or a city tour, we invest in top-notch guides, porters, equipment, and accommodations. Our meals are prepared with the freshest ingredients, and we often include exclusive activities to enhance your journey. We take pride in our tours and firmly believe that the value they offer is unparalleled.

Do you allow people who aren’t LGBTQ+ to join your tours?

The majority of our men travelers are gay and women are lesbian or bi but we warmly welcome travelers of all orientations, genders, and identities on our tours, regardless of whether they identify as LGBTQ+ or not. Friends, family members, and allies are always welcome to join us on our inclusive journeys.

Are you transgender friendly?

Yes, we are proudly inclusive of all queer individuals, including transgender men and women, as well as non-binary, agender, and two-spirit individuals. All are warmly welcomed on our tours.
